Back to team Dr. Isabelle Kopec VP of Medical Affairs & Co-Founder Contact Dr. Isabelle Kopec has been a physician for more than 38 years and more than 15 years as a leader in the tele-ICU industry. As the co-founder of Hicuity Health Dr. Kopec is responsible for a great number of the company’s practices and successes. She continues to be a practicing intensivist who is deeply involved in client relationships and ensuring that the collaborative relationship between company clinical staff and hospital staff is seamless. In addition to her role at Hicuity Health, Dr. Kopec serves as the associate chairman of the Department of Critical Care Medicine and as past president of the medical staff at SSM DePaul Health Center in St. Louis. Under her leadership, DePaul received SSM Healthcare’s Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and a five-star rating two years running from Health Grades for cardiac surgery outcomes. Dr. Kopec also aided in the implementation of DePaul’s Medical Emergency Team to improve patient outcomes and lower mortality rates. In 2006, she was selected as one of St. Louis’ “Healthcare Heroes.” She has served as chair of the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Tele-ICU Committee and is an active member of Mid-America Transplant Services Physician Advisory Board, American College of Physicians and American College of Physician Executives. Dr. Kopec speaks on patient safety and quality outcomes of Hicuity Health’s tele-ICU program at national conferences, including the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s National Forum. Dr. Kopec’s vision and desire to alleviate the issue of intensivist shortage and provide the gold standard of care to patients across the US has helped grow Hicuity Health into the leader in tele-ICU care. She is board-certified in critical care and internal medicine and completed her fellowship training in critical care medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She earned her MD from St. George’s University School of Medicine and her BS from the University of Toronto.
