Advanced ICU Care’s record year marks a decade of service, touching 200,000 lives

Advanced ICU Care 2015 Results ST. LOUIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–With the start of 2016, Advanced ICU Care, the nation’s leading provider of high acuity telehealth services, looks back on a landmark year and celebrates 10 years as a pioneering tele-ICU services provider. In 2015, the company cared for more than 55,000 patients, bringing to almost 200,000 the number ICU patients served by Advanced ICU Care tele-ICU teams over the organization’s history.

The wide range of successes delivered by Advanced ICU Care in 2015 detail the significant impact its tele-ICU services have on patient outcomes and illustrate the growth of its high acuity telehealth services and the broader telehealth ecosystem. The company partnered with its client hospitals to reduce ICU mortality by 34 percent, save over 1,400 lives, and reduce the typical patient’s stay in the ICU by more than a full day.

“These data do more than simply document great clinical results. For our teams these milestones literally represent life-changing events for the patients we serve, their families, and our hospital partners,” noted Lou Silverman, CEO of Advanced ICU Care.

As the documented clinical benefits of tele-ICU continue to expand, so does the reach of high acuity telemedicine.

“We are privileged to work with over 60 client hospitals and hospital systems,” commented Dr. Isabelle Kopec, MD, co-founder of Advanced ICU Care and Vice President of Medical Affairs. “We could not have anticipated such growth ten years ago, and look forward to continuing to extend our high-acuity telemedicine expertise to help hospitals nationwide care for their most critically ill patients.”
