Advanced ICU Care Announces Key Activities at ATA Conference 2017

Advanced ICU Care, the nation’s leading provider of high-acuity telemedicine services, today announced the company’s key activities at the 2017 American Telemedicine Association (ATA) Annual Conference, Telehealth 2.0, which will take place April 23 – 25 in Orlando, Fla.

ATA is the leading global telehealth organization with a membership network of more than 10,000 industry leaders and healthcare professionals striving to transform healthcare throughout the world. This year’s conference will focus on how telehealth is transforming healthcare and creating competitive and cost advantages for those leveraging best practices. As the nation’s largest provider of tele-ICU care, Advanced ICU Care will have a significant presence at the event, including multiple speaking engagements, presentations and hands-on exhibitions.

Following is a detailed schedule of the company’s events at ATA’s Telehealth 2.0

  • Experience Zone: Simulation Showcase
    Location: ATA Experience Zone – 1241
    As the primary host of the tele-ICU exhibition in the ATA’s new Experience Zone/Simulation Showcase, Advanced ICU Care will provide visitors with a hands-on demonstration of telemedicine in action. Visitors will be virtually transported inside both a hospital’s ICU and the remote tele-ICU care center to see firsthand how the partnership yields significant clinical benefits and consistently delivers a solid return on investment. Each tour will last 15 minutes, with a brief question-and-answer session following.

 

  • ATA Industry Leaders Forum: Telehealth for Specialty Care
    Date/Time: Monday, April 24; 2:45 – 3:45 p.m
    Location: ATA Experience Zone Theater – Booth 1241
    Lou Silverman, CEO of Advanced ICU Care, will participate in the panel discussion which will focus on how to best transition telehealth into day-to-day workflows of specialties, with an emphasis on critical care. The panelists will address issues including provider-to-provider telemedicine and specialty point-of-care models.

 

  • Oral Presentation (V10-03): Improving Metrics with the Addition of ‘Tele’ to the ICU (and Why it Works)
    Date/Time: Tuesday, April 25; 11:25 – 11:45 a.m.
    Location: W230 BC
    Dr. David Nierman, Advanced ICU Care Regional Medical Director, and Jean Turcotte, Tele-ICU Director of Adventist Health System (now AdventHealth), will discuss the positive clinical impact and process improvements associated with Adventist Health System’s implementation of tele-ICU in 2014.

 

  • Advanced ICU Care Booth 1119
    The company will be exhibiting in the main hall at booth 1119 throughout the duration of the conference. Company representatives will be available to discuss the clinical and economic benefits of tele-ICU, address questions from hospital administrators and clinicians, and customize estimates of clinical and financial outcomes that a tele-ICU program could potentially bring to each hospital.

In addition to the company’s extensive conference activity, ATA has elected two of Advanced ICU Care’s senior executives to serve as committee leads for the 2017-2018 year based on their respected knowledge, experience and contributions to the telemedicine industry. Gian Cavallini, Vice President of Strategy and Development for Advanced ICU Care, has been named the chair-elect of ATA’s Industry Council, which represents all non-hospital members in ATA participation and activities. Tom Bobich, Vice President of Marketing for Advanced ICU Care, has been elected vice-chair of the group’s Tele-ICU and Acute Care Special Interest Group, which promotes and fosters the growth of acute and intensive care services using telemedicine technologies.
