Gian Cavallini Presents at Philips Connect2Care User Summit

Gian Cavallini, the Vice President of Strategy and Development of Advanced ICU Care, presented at the annual Philips Connect2Care User Summit in Orlando. In a talk entitled “Orchestrating Outreach Care across Multiple Telehealth Centers”, Cavallini discussed the unique challenges of offering clinical telemedicine services across a broad geography and multiple care centers. He detailed the value of offering tele-ICU on a Care-As-A-Service basis, rather than in a ”built from within” model – and how Advanced ICU Care has drawn on more than ten years as a service provider to overcome the key challenges.

Cavallini detailed for the Philips User Summit audience four keys to how Advanced ICU Care addresses the primary multi-geography challenges to successfully offer tele-ICU care with over 65 partner hospitals across 20+ states:

  • Technology: Advanced ICU Care has developed a proprietary orchestration engine that enables service with the range of EMR systems deployed in hospitals, as well as collaborative care across its eight care centers.
  • Staffing: Each Advanced ICU Care client benefits from significant staffing investments to support the service offering, including a dedicated Medical Staff Office to handle credentialing, Client Services teams that include both account management and medical directors, and significant analytics and reporting capabilities that enable on-going program assessment and evidence-based enhancements.
  • Processes: Proven implementation processes, as well as established change management processes and results reporting, address the key challenges of providing telemedicine services to a diverse set of hospital partners and adapting to each new environment.
  • Experience: Over ten years of experience as a dedicated telemedicine provider, including over 70 successful hospital implementations, gives Advanced ICU Care the ability to understand and address the challenges of diverse hospital situations.
