The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), a partner of Advanced ICU Care since 2013, has been recognized as a national Telehealth Center of Excellence by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. As one of only two centers recognized nationally, MUSC will receive a $600,000 grant, which will be used to enable MUSC to continue to expand the role and use of telemedicine in South Carolina.
MUSC is a founding member of the South Carolina Telehealth Alliance (SCTA), which has been entrusted by the state legislature to use telehealth to improve health care access in the state. The partnership between Advanced ICU Care and MUSC supports this mission, as it partners the two organizations in expanding tele-ICU care and 24/7 monitoring of a hospital’s most critically ill patients to hospitals throughout South Carolina.
