Advanced ICU Care Launches New Operations Center in Washington, D.C. Metro Area

Ninth Tele-ICU Center Extends Breadth of Collaborative Telemedicine Services

Bethesda, MD–November 14, 2017–Advanced ICU Care, the nation’s leading provider of high acuity telemedicine services, today announced the opening of a ninth operations center. Located in the Washington, D.C. area, the newest facility joins eight integrated hubs from which Advanced ICU Care uses cutting edge tele-technology to deliver clinical support and additional critical care expertise to ICUs nationwide.

Each of the company’s integrated hubs serves as a base for critical care teams led by U.S. board-certified intensivists and are comprised of critical care advanced practice providers, registered nurses, and respiratory therapists. They are connected in real-time to Advanced ICU Care’s 65+ partner hospitals across 25 states via a secure data stream of patient information and two-way audio-video capabilities. This enables Advanced ICU Care’s critical care teams to actively engage in patient care, regardless of location.

By partnering with Advanced ICU Care’s clinical teams, a hospital’s onsite intensivists and ICU staff benefit from additional collaboration and support as the teams work together to provide the highest level of treatment to their high acuity patients. Continuous monitoring by critical care specialists and coordination between the hospital’s staff and tele-ICU teams lead to improved patient outcomes, including lower mortality rates, reduced complications, and better adherence to clinical best-practices.

“The clinicians providing care from our integrated hubs – now including our Bethesda center– are skilled and passionate individuals who are committed to our mission of providing outstanding patient care,” said Lou Silverman, CEO of Advanced ICU Care. “There is no greater validation of the work they do and the value we provide our hospital partners than the necessity to expand our delivery network.”
