Advanced ICU Care Launches Tele-ICU Service with Southern Ohio Medical Center

Launch is second Ohio implementation in four months.

June 20, 2017 <Saint Louis, MO> – Advanced ICU Care, the nation’s leading provider of high-acuity telemedicine services, announced the launch of tele-ICU clinical services at Southern Ohio Medical Center (SOMC). SOMC, a 220 bed hospital with 26 ICU beds, represents the second hospital in Ohio to launch Advanced ICU Care’s tele-ICU clinical services in four months.

Advanced ICU Care’s intensivist-led clinical teams working from the company’s eight care centers will partner with SOMC bedside teams to provide advanced care to critically ill patients at SOMC. A secure data stream of patient information and two-way audio-video capabilities enables Advanced ICU Care’s remote care teams of critical care physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses to actively engage in patient care. The constant monitoring and collaborative coordination across care teams ensures 24/7 intensivist oversight of the hospital’s ICU patients.

“Our goal is to provide the patients in our community the highest quality of care,” said Amy Fraulini, Administrative Director of Critical Care and Heart &Vascular Services at SOMC. “Advanced ICU Care’s robust tele-ICU service supports our mission and the work of our intensivists by ensuring our patients are monitored around-the-clock by experienced critical care clinicians.”

“It has been a pleasure working with the leadership and clinical teams at Southern Ohio Medical Center,” said Lou Silverman, CEO of Advanced ICU Care. “Our mutual service-orientation unites us in a common goal to provide the best care possible for our shared patients.”
