Advanced ICU Care Launches High-Acuity Telemedicine Services at AdventHealth Dade City

Tele-ICU Implementation Supports the Work of Bedside Intensivists to Provide 24/7 Patient Oversight

Advanced ICU Care and AdventHealth Dade City celebrate the opening of their Tele-ICU

May 2, 2019 – St. Louis, MO – Advanced ICU Care, the nation’s leading provider of high-acuity telemedicine services, announced the launch of tele-ICU services at AdventHealth Dade City in Dade City, FL. The AdventHealth Dade City implementation is an extension of an existing partnership between the AdventHealth system and Advanced ICU Care and represents the third hospital in their West Florida Division of operations to implement tele-ICU care. As a leader in providing telehealth services to their community, AdventHealth’s tele-ICU partnership with Advanced ICU Care allows for around-the-clock support of the hospital’s intensivists and bedside teams to deliver the gold standard of critical care.

Advanced ICU Care’s team of intensivists, advanced practice providers and nurses with advanced training in critical care utilize state-of-the-art software, real-time clinical data and two-way audio-visual capabilities to remotely monitor and engage in patient care. Implementing high-acuity telemedicine in a facility’s preexisting intensive care unit allows for multidisciplinary care teams to deliver the highest quality, patient-centered care with consistent intensivist collaboration and coverage.

“The Advanced ICU Care® team of intensivists work remotely around-the-clock complementing the care provided by the AdventHealth Dade City physicians,” said Gwen Alonso, RN, BSN, Chief Nursing Officer at AdventHealth Dade City. “Patients in our ICUs are typically facing life-threating medical conditions. This program continuously monitors real-time patient vital signs, medications, labs and clinical status to provide an extra layer of care that enhances patient safety.”

“Advanced ICU Care is pleased to build upon our existing long-term relationship with the AdventHealth system,” said Lou Silverman, CEO of Advanced ICU Care. “We look forward to working jointly with AdventHealth Dade City’s highly skilled bedside teams and vision-focused leadership to provide an additional model of innovative care delivery for the Pasco County community.”
